    high man^^
i just got me a z3 tablet and have trouble updating it to 5.1.1. I tried many times like you write in the article but the process always fails with the error flashing system.sin. any ideas?
a little story on what i did after I got the tablet: it came with 4.4.4 ot of the box so i thought yay, easy to root and put cm or crdroid rom on it. and that’s what i did. managed all the rooting and bootloader unlocking,.. andgot crdroid 5.1.1 on it. everything was fine just the back camera does not focus! so i wanted to install stock 5.1.1 but it fails everytime…. since i don’t want to use 4.4.4 i run without camera now…would love to try stock lolipop though
any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I am new to android an learned. lot from your videos. keep it up (high), mate!

Hi Lukas, this error happens when there is PROBLEM in your DOWNLOADED ROM (.ftf), so I suggest downloading another ROM from another source! and also make sure to choose that rom from the firmware list inside Flashtool. let me know how it goes

Hey, I already tried that. I found 2 different versions on the web, both have the same problem. I even built my own ftf from the files the sony software downloads. but there was some other error….
I thought it might be a problem that I never installeled stock lolipop before I unlocked the bootloader…but that would be silly??
Anyways, I try to find another ftf and try again.

I did! somebody posted on the xda forum that using the precious version of flashtool solved his problem. And so did it with mine….
I just don’t understand…why does an older version flash a newer firmware?
Anyways, now I am waiting for a root solution….haha
    thanks, bro!

Great! that’s really strange! btw, there is a newer version that was released last week, it’s supposedly supports older xperia devices, too although yours is pretty new but I hope it solves that STRANGE issue! Glad you found it.

Great step by step but I’d just be following it without actually understanding what I was doing so I had better ask first before I end up messing up my phone somehow. Does this method only work if you’re upgrading or will it let me downgrade from Marshmallow?

I have the most recent official update but I want to downgrade to get Stamina mode and Ultra Stamina mode back.
